School Safety Through Information
from Peter Hastings an Assistant Principal at Paul Revere Middle School (LAUSD) talks about Radar (one of tools):
Two days after GSTools Radar was installed at Paul Revere Middle School the computers were down at school. During first period a student began to experience chest pains and concerned adults immediately called for the paramedics. I was with the student in the classroom waiting for help. I pulled out my iPod Touch launched the Radar tool and looked up the student’s emergency contact info. retrieving home and work phone numbers for both parents. Both parents arrived before the ambulance, fortunately everything turned out okay and under control. The parents were thankful and impressed by the quick action taken. Having on the spot access to student data was helpful and that it certainly provides a necessary back up when the computers are down.
GSTools provides a suite of tools for the High and Middle school administrator. Each of these tools improves school safety. All work together seamlessly. Currently there are four (4) tools in the TrueID suite.
Radar is your essential SIS information.
Need to determine if a student belongs on Campus? Radar will tell you in seconds. Student injured on campus? Emergency contact information is just a few touches away.
Want to remember to counsel a student later? Use Radar’s flag and note taking capabilities.
Seeker helps you through a school emergency.
Track the status of all of your students during a school emergency. When the first responders arrive you will be ready to tell them which students are still missing and where they might be. And you will be able to provide the responders with the students pictures. All this with no power, no Internet and no WiFi.
idQuick allows you to have a photo ID of -every- student on campus. Even those students that always seem to be missing on picture days. Start with your normal picture disk from your school photographer and then add any missing student using the built in camera. Photos taken using the built in camera are automatically distributed to all other units.
TardySweep provides a fully automatic tardy process. Tardy students can be entered using barcoded ID cards, by name or by birthday. Tardy slips, and detention forms, are printed automatically. Reports can be generated and emailed or printed at your discretion.

While the GSTools app itself is free, access to your campuses information is not. Good School Tools requires you to license the trueIDServer. Please contact Good School Tools for complete licensing information.
The tools are actively evolving and new tools will be added to the suite based on the feedback we receive from our users.
